Grand Seiko’s latest releases introduce two Evolution 9 Style timepieces – the SLGW006 “Sunrise Tentagraph” chronograph and the SLGW007 “Moonlit Birch” – inspired by Japan’s natural beauty and the watchmaker’s high-beat precision.
A limited edition of 300 examples, the SLGW006 “Sunrise Tentagraph” chronograph captures the dawn’s glow on Mount Iwate with its copper-pink, radial-patterned dial. Housed in polished Grade 5 titanium, 18k rose gold and ceramic, the case measures 43.2 mm in diameter. Beneath its custom fluted bezel, which doubles as a functional minute track, beats the Caliber 9SC5, offering 72 hours of power reserve.
Complementing the chronograph is the SLGW007 “Moonlit Birch,” a manual-winding hi-beat dress watch that evokes the bark of white birch trees bathed in moonlight. Its textured navy PVD dial mirrors the irregular forest patterns of Iwate Prefecture’s Hiraniwa Plateau. Arriving in a slender 38.6 mm stainless steel case, the timepiece measures 9.95mm in thickness. Inside, the Caliber 9SA4 vibrates at 36,000 vph to maintain stability and accuracy, delivering 80 hours of continuous running power. Echoing the dial’s grained pattern, a navy-toned calf-leather strap completes this understated timepiece with quiet elegance.
Available from October, the SLGW006 “Sunrise Tentagraph” boasts a price tag of $22,600 USD/£19,650 GBP and will be sold through Grand Seiko Salons. As for the SLGW007 “Moonlit Birch,” it will retail for $10,000 USD/£8,600 GBP, also releasing in October. Visit Grand Seiko’s official website for full details.
