Artists Equity, the artist-led studio founded by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, has appointed veteran producer and executive Amy Baer to serve as President of Film & Television.
Boasting a portfolio of films that have grossed more than $2 billion globally in total, Baer is known for founding Gidden Media, where she’s served as President, producing such films as double Oscar nom The Apprentice, Last Vegas, Mary Shelley, and Brian Banks, in addition to exec producing the Netflix chart-topper Purple Hearts. Earlier in her career, she spent 17 years at Sony Pictures, which recently set a three-year partnership with Artists Equity, whereby Sony finances and handles global theatrical distribution for the company’s projects.
Baer will oversee the studio’s production slate, reporting to Artists Equity’s Co-Founder & CEO, Affleck, as well as Chief Operating Officer Dillon West.

She brings a wealth of experience, not only in leadership roles at major studios, including our valued partner in Sony Pictures, but also as a successful independent producer, building a deep understanding of the evolving industry landscape.”

Alongside running Gidden Media, Baer recently served as President of Landline Pictures, where she oversaw the development and production of films like Jerry & Marge Go Large and the upcoming comedy The Best Is Yet to Come, reuniting Ferris Bueller‘s Matthew Broderick and Alan Ruck. Before founding her own company, she launched CBS Films and served for four years as its President and CEO. During her Sony years, she shepherded hit films including Oscar nominees Moneyball, The Pursuit of Happyness and Adaptation, as well as Something’s Gotta Give and The Holiday.
A member of AMPAS, the PGA, Producers United, Film Independent, and SAG, Baer recently concluded a six-year term as Board President of Women in Film. A longtime advocate for issues affecting the entertainment industry — most recently through the Stay in LA initiative — she also serves as a Visiting Lecturer at Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film & Media Arts, teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Coming off a successful launch for Affleck’s The Accountant 2, which grossed over $103M in theaters before premiering on Prime Video, Artists Equity’s next films coming up for release are Kiss of the Spider Woman, starring Jennifer Lopez, which releases through Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions on October 10, and the action thriller The Rip, starring Damon, Affleck, Teyana Taylor and Scott Adkins, which premieres on Netflix on January 16, 2026. Their slate also includes the upcoming Affleck-directed thriller Animals, also for Netflix.
