The Buffalo Bills’ 41-40 win over the Baltimore Ravens on “Sunday Night Football” had its share of drama on and off the field.

Reigning MVP Josh Allen engineered three scoring drives in the final four minutes to lead the Bills back from a 40-25 deficit and hand the Ravens one of the more heartbreaking losses in franchise history.

Matt Prater’s 32-yard field goal as time expired put an exclamation mark on what could turn out to be the NFL‘s Game of the Year, but some will remember Sunday’s game for what happened away from the field.

Late in the third quarter following a DeAndre Hopkins’ 29-yard touchdown catch that put Baltimore up 34-19, both Hopkins and quarterback Lamar Jackson were struck in the head by a Bills fan as they celebrated near the sideline.

The fan, who was wearing a red Bills jersey, reached over and shoved Hopkins by his helmet and seemingly shoved Jackson by his facemask. Jackson responded by shoving the fan backward into the stands out of instinct.

Multiple reports indicate the fan was kicked out of Highmark Stadium shortly after the incident, which went viral on social media, and on Monday morning the NFL responded to what happened.

“The fan who shoved Ravens WR DeAndre Hopkins, and then got shoved by QB Lamar Jackson, has been ‘indefinitely banned from Bills and NFL stadiums,’ per a team official. The fan had been ejected after the shove Sunday night,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter wrote on X.

Though most agreed the fan was in the wrong, Jackson admitted to reporters after the game that he shouldn’t have put his hands on the fan and he got caught up in the heat of the moment.

“He slapped me, and he was talking — so, I just forgot where I was for a little bit,” Jackson said, via ESPN. “You have to think in those situations. You have security out there; let security handle it. But I just let my emotions get the best of me. Hopefully, it doesn’t happen again. I learned from that.”
