Las Vegas Raiders star tight end Brock Bowers suffered a knee injury in the team’s Week 1 win against the New England Patriots. After a day of 100+ yards, Bowers was seen walking gingerly after what appeared to be a non-contact injury.

Bowers took it upon himself to announce that the injury was nothing major, revealing that he should be good to go soon. However, the star pass catcher has now received an official injury timeline designation.

According to the injury report on NFL.com, Raiders head coach Pete Carroll stated that Bowers is “day-to-day.”

This is the best-case scenario for Bowers, who was predicted to have suffered a more serious injury by a sports doctor who viewed the incident. An MCL sprain or even ACL injury appeared to be the case, simply by how the Raiders star was moving, but that was clearly not the case.

Instead, Bowers will now be treated with a “day-to-day” status, meaning that his injury could be as minor as allowing him to begin practicing on Tuesday. He is likely to appear on the team’s first injury report when it is released on Wednesday, but a “limited” status on that would point to a minor injury sustained.

Bowers ended the Week 1 outing against the Patriots with five receptions for 103 yards. He picked up right where he left off in the 2024 NFL season, when he secured 112 receptions for 1,194 yards and five touchdowns.

Bowers’ 112 receptions set the rookie record for most catches in a season, surpassing New York Giants star Malik Nabers, who caught 109 balls in 2024.

The Raiders dodged a major bullet with Bowers not having suffered a more serious injury. Getting hit on the knee can cause all kinds of damage, such as an ACL tear, which would have knocked the young star out for the season.

For now, Bowers will need to heal in time for Week 2, as the Raiders are set to face the Los Angeles Chargers to attempt to start the season off 2-0.
