HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT)— Women in Music Week (WIMW) is set to return Sept. 12–21, bringing together more than 50 female artists for a citywide celebration of talent, creativity, and collaboration.
Now in its seventh year, the event has become a cornerstone of Huntsville Music Month. Organizers say this year’s program is the largest yet, with double the number of events compared to last year.
“This year, the impact of Women in Music Week is bigger than ever,” said Huntsville Music Officer Matt Mandrella. “We’ve doubled the number of events, giving audiences even more opportunities to experience the power of women’s artistry on stage and behind the scenes.”
The festivities kick off Friday, Sept. 12, at The Electric Belle located on Governors Dr. with the Love Jones WIMW Kickoff Showcase, headlined by Carvena and featuring performances from Alisha, Canderiah, and Zami Mare.
For Executive Producer Alli Johnson of Artemis Productions, the week is about more than just music it’s about creating a platform.
“Women in Music Week is a testament to what’s possible when female creatives are given space to shine,” Johnson said. “The collaboration with the Huntsville Music Office has significantly expanded the event’s scope, transforming it from a weekend celebration into a week-long extravaganza.”
Johnson added that the expansion has allowed organizers to “amplify our reach and showcase an even greater lineup of artists.”
With performances scheduled across multiple venues, organizers hope WIMW will continue to highlight women’s voices and inspire the next generation of creators.
