K-pop fans, now is your time to hit the stage.

Galaxy Corporation is coming to Los Angeles on Monday and is searching for new talent for its first-ever virtual band. The company famously represents South Korean rapper and singer-songwriter, G-Dragon, the leader of the K-pop boy band Big Bang.

The contest winner will undergo professional singing, dancing and rapping training.

However, there is a twist.

They will be represented by a virtual avatar, in a sense, playing a character and not themselves.

The 2025 Global Virtual Artist Audition “will recruit talented individuals from around the world in Los Angeles to become members of a groundbreaking virtual idol group. These artists will have their voices, movements, and personalities embodied in fully virtual idol avatars – ushering in a new kind of performer beyond the traditional idol group,” a press release explained. “The avatars will be brought to life through an immersive transmedia concept developed by Galaxy’s Creative Technology. The project reflects Galaxy’s broader vision of building “entertainers without borders” who can transcend physical limitations to connect with a global audience in real time.”

This is Galaxy Corporation’s first public audition campaign. They are known for their Netflix reality competition series “Physical 100.”

Virtual bands aren’t new.

Many will remember the British virtual band Gorillaz, which gained fame in the early 2000s.

In-person auditions will be held exclusively in L.A. on September 8 at the El Rey Theatre.
