Second-year coaches Jedd Fisch and Tim Plough will face off on Saturday when Washington welcomes UC Davis to Seattle, with each team boasting 1-0 records to start the 2025 season. Washington demonstrated its muscle with a season-opening 38-21 win over Colorado State a week ago, though the Huskies didn’t quite cover the 22.5-point spread as big favorites. Nevertheless, Fisch will have ended up proud of his squad after renovating his coaching staff in the off-season.
Senior running back Jonah Coleman had a particularly fruitful day with two touchdowns against Colorado, including a 26-yard run during the first quarter. No. 8-ranked UC Davis scored its own opening win on home soil after beating local rival Utah Tech 31-24, but the FCS program faces a significant step up this weekend.
