PHOENIX — The Arizona Builders Alliance (ABA), a trade association for contractors, recently signed a lease for a space at SkySong, Arizona State University’s innovation center in Scottsdale.
The organization is set to lease 20,869 square feet in the first building completed at the development, SkySong 1. SkySong will reach 95% capacity with the new leasing.
Plaza Companies is the development’s mast developer, in partnership with University Realty, the city of Scottsdale and Holualoa Companies.
“We are pleased to welcome the Arizona Builders Alliance to the SkySong family,” Chairman and CEO of Plaza Companies Shannon Harper said in the announcement. “SkySong continues to defy market trends when it comes to attracting companies and organizations that are seeking a focus on innovation and entrepreneurship in their office environment.”
What is Arizona Builders Alliance’s plan for the space at SkySong?
The ABA will use around 5,300 square feet for its corporate office and the remainder will be used as an educational space for classes that it offers.
President of ABA Kim Davids stated that space is perfect for the organization’s current impact growth.
“SkySong offers an ideal setting for us to better server our members with its focus on innovation and collaboration,” Davids said. “We’re eager to move on into our new space and continue supporting our members’ growth and success in this community.”
SkySong is 42 acres and was designed to:
- Create a space meant for collaboration and innovation among tech enterprises and researchers.
- Advance global business objectives of on-site enterprises.
- Increase Arizona being known as a global center of innovation with ASU’s on-site global partners.
- Create a unique regional economic and social asset.
SkySong also provides companies with the chance to partner with ASU. In fact, the university’s Tempe campus is less than three miles from the development, which is near Scottsdale and McDowell roads.
ASU’s on-site operations also provides tenants with connections to its faculty, researchers and programs.
Plaza Companies is in charge of the development, financing, construction oversight, leasing renewals, expansions and property management at SkySong.
However, the development’s leasing broker is The Coppola Cheney Group of Lee & Associates.
