EXCLUSIVE: Former World’s Strongest Man winner Eddie Hall has been set to host strongman competition series Battle Of The Beasts, which is in pre-production in Malta ahead of an October start.
The show will bring together ten contestants from around the world, including current World’s Strongest Man Rayno Nel and three-time World’s Strongest Man Tom Stoltman, alongside Mitchell Hooper, Gavin Bilton, Evan Singleton, Terry Hollands, Paddy Haynes, Mark Felix and Trey Mitchell.
The contestants will compete in a series of challenges designed to push the boundaries of strength, endurance, resilience, agility, pain, appetite, and combat, including sumo wrestling, belly flop challenges and an eating competition, all to crown the first-ever champion of the Battle of the Beasts.
The show will be filmed in front of an audience and edited into a reality sports format set for release next summer. Distribution rights remain open with the series having been largely funded through branding partnerships and sponsorship deals, we’re told, as well as the Malta tax credit.
Hall, who rose to fame after winning The World’s Strongest Man title in 2017 and making history as the first human to deadlift 500 kilograms, will be joined by other celebrity hosts.
Director will be Roel Reiné (Halo), with Visit Malta and online sports betting & crypto casino Duelbits backing as the main sponsors. The show is produced by Matt Hookings and Luke Croft-Faulkner of Camelot Films. Exec producers include Jasper Hoekert and Christopher Curran from Duelbits, and Derik Fay, Flex Lewis and Adrian Goodisman.
Camelot’s recent credits include Russell Crowe’s Malta-filmed movie Prizefighter: The Life of Jem Belcher, which sold to Amazon Prime Video.
