Summary

  • H. Moser & Cie. launched two Pioneer Flying Hours watches at Geneva Watch Days
  • The dial features a minimalist design geared with three rotating wandering-hour discs
  • Available in two variants: red gold case with aventurine dial; steel with white fumé dial

A decade after launching the Pioneer collection and seven years on from its first Flying Hours complication, H. Moser & Cie. now unites these two hallmarks in its latest unveiling: the Pioneer Flying Hours. Presented at Geneva Watch Days, the new models reimagine the brand’s signature wandering hours via three rotating discs, each mounted on its own axis and “orbiting” a central minutes disc and introduce an instantaneous hour jump for greater legibility. This modular display, inspired by mid-century satellite systems, delivers a clean, graphic presentation free of logos or markers, inviting the eye to follow the hypnotic ballet of numerals at every change of the hour.

Housed in a 42.8 mm case, the Pioneer Flying Hours debuts in two distinct options. One features a 5N red gold case paired with black DLC-coated titanium inserts and an aventurine dial, evoking a star-studded sky. Meanwhile, its steel counterpart features a white fumé dial and a subtly industrial aesthetic. Both models are equipped with pump-style crowns, curved sapphire crystals and complementing rubber straps – black for the red gold model, gray for the steel version – while ensuring 12 ATM of water resistance.

At its heart, Moser’s in-house HMC 240 automatic caliber ticks at 21,600 vph with a Straumann® hairspring, delivering 72 hours of continuous running power. Through the sapphire caseback, collectors can admire the oscillating weight – solid red gold on the 5N edition and tungsten on steel – alongside anthracite-finished bridges and plates.

The aventurine reference is limited to 100 pieces at $49,900 USD, while the white fumé variant, offered without limitation, retails for $41,200 USD. For full details, visit the H. Moser & Cie. website.
