The Green Bay Packers have a tough matchup in Week 1, as the team is set to face off against the Detroit Lions. In what could be an NFC Championship preview, both teams are hoping to get off to a hot start to begin the 2025 NFL season.

That said, teams have begun to start releasing injury reports for Week 1, which are released on Wednesday, Thursday, and the final one due on Friday for games played on Sundays.

The usual case for injury reports is that the final ones on Friday are obviously the main indicator of whether or not players will suit up. There are rare occasions where a player is questionable or doubtful and ends up suiting up anyway.

For the Packers, the first injury report contains a not-so-surprising player in Micah Parsons, but a surprise in Jordan Love.

As expected, Parsons has appeared on the injury report due to the back issue he has been recovering from. Love, on the other hand, has a left thumb issue.

The good news is Love was a full participant, while Parsons was limited.

There have been plenty of reports regarding Parsons’ back injury, and the belief is that he is planning to play on Sunday. However, back injuries can be tricky.

If Parsons appears limited or does not practice on Thursday or Friday, he may not be allowed to play against the Lions.

Love received surgery on the left thumb due to a torn ligament when he struck a teammate’s helmet in training camp. Despite the issue, it appears it will not affect his ability to play on Sunday.

There will be more injury reports to come out, and Parsons’ status might be far clearer by Friday. For now, he is being limited due to a back issue.
