I watched “E.T.” the other week with my kids. It was great! We need more live-action films like this these days.

In September, head over to Netflix to enjoy beloved movies like “E.T., the Extra-Terrestrial” and “Shrek.”

There’s also Tom Cruise in the action hit “Edge of Tomorrow,” Brad Pitt in “Inglourious Basterds,” and the cult classic “Idiocracy.”

Here are the 10 best movies on Netflix this month.

“Bram Stoker’s Dracula” (September 1)

This lush 1992 gothic horror from Francis Ford Coppola stars Gary Oldman as Dracula, Winona Ryder as his obsession, and Keanu Reeves as the man trying to stop the Transylvanian count.

“E.T., the Extra-Terrestrial” (September 1)

This Steven Spielberg classic showcases the director’s masterful storytelling talent. The story follows Elliott (Henry Thomas) as he discovers a young alien and tries to help him get back home.

“Edge of Tomorrow” (September 1)

Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt team up to deliver one of the best action movies of the 2010s. Cruise plays a soldier who gets into a time loop and uses it to build up enough skill to defeat an army of aliens who have invaded Earth. Blunt plays his badass superior who fights by his side.

“Inglourious Basterds” (September 1)

This Quentin Tarantino masterpiece, loosely based on a late 1970s fictitious World War II movie, stars Brad Pitt as the head of a group of soldiers who set out to kill as many Nazi leaders as possible. That plot interconnects with a French-Jewish cinema owner (Mélanie Laurent) who devises her own way to end the war after learning that the top Nazi commanders, including Hitler, want to use her theater for a movie premiere.

“La La Land” (September 1)

“Sweet Home Alabama” (September 28)

This classic rom-com stars Reese Witherspoon as a fashion designer who has turned her back on her Southern roots and made it big in New York City.
