Nun too pleased.
A Pittsburgh nun known for her fearless confrontations with crime chased down a suspected credit card thief who threatened to shoot her at her religious goods store, according to a report.
Sister Mary Madalyn Schleifer, who runs the Sacred Heart of Jesus store in Bloomfield, sprang into action earlier this week after a customer reported her credit cards had been stolen while shopping, KDKA reported.
The nun then made a split-second decision to chase after the alleged credit card thief and was able to recover the snatched cards, according to the outlet.
“You don’t think about that. There’s no why, it just happens. It happens so fast,” she told the outlet.
“He was walking out the door, and I started following him, and he turned around and said, ‘I don’t want to have to shoot you,’” she recalled of this week’s chase.
“And I said, ‘Listen, all I want to tell you is Jesus loves you.’ And then he went out, and I went out after him,” she said.
Schleifer has previously faced down suspects in several other dangerous crimes — including confronting an armed jewelry thief and a man demanding money — she recalled to the outlet.
The crime-fighting religious sister claimed she was motivated by her faith to chase the card thief.
“We’re all His children, whether we know it or not, you know? Sometimes, there’s a lot of crud on us and we have to get that cleaned off to be able to see,” she said.
It is not immediately clear if the suspect was later arrested or charged by police.
The Pittsburgh Police Department did not respond to The Post’s request for comment by the time of publication.
