EXCLUSIVE: Princ Films has acquired worldwide sales rights to the relationship comedy Let’s Love, starring Martin Freeman (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), Malin Akerman (The Hunting Wives), Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games), Jess Weixler (Monsters), Craig Roberts (Submarine), Richard Elis (Bittersweet Symphony), Chloe Jouanett (My Summer in Provence) and Dermot Mulroney (The Wedding Date).
The British indie film will make its market debut with Princ Films at the upcoming Toronto market for domestic and international buyers. Above is a first look.
Written and directed by Jamie Adams (The Holiday List), the movie is produced by Tom George’s Happy Hour Productions (Netflix: DarkGame) and Rebecca Long’s Boudica Entertainment (Low Rider).
The synopsis reads: “Ten years after a breakout hit film, screenwriter Nigel, director Andrea, and actors Jackson and Jess reunite in Wales for a fan convention that promises to revive their careers. Jackson and Andrea’s marriage is faltering, while Nigel and Jess wrestle with long-suppressed feelings. When the event is abruptly cancelled due to a booking blunder, the four seize the chance to brainstorm a sequel, retreating to the film’s original locations for inspiration. Joined by two overly enthusiastic superfans, their weekend spirals into camping mishaps, romantic tensions, and hard truths. By the time they finally pitch to studio executive, the weekend’s missteps, revelations, and reconciliations infused their heartfelt sequel idea with unexpected power.”
The deal was negotiated by Rebecca Long and Tom George for the film, and Igor Princ on behalf of Princ Films.
Tom George said about the completed project: “Let’s Love has been a great experience. We have been lucky enough to have had such an amazing team and incredible talent on board that we’ve been able to make something truly unique, an improvised film with a heartfelt story that feels like a scripted comedy. We’re very excited to be launching this film to the market and to be working with the team at Princ Films.”
“The unique opportunity to produce a feature film that is improvised with the cast front and central required faith and collaboration and was a thrilling experience reminding me of classic comedy films in the vein of Billy Wilder with the actor centre stage,” added Rebecca Long. “We hope that a wide audience will enjoy this film and are delighted that the film is being represented by Princ Films.”
Igor Princ added: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with this wonderful film. Let’s Love is original, witty relationship comedy and I am certain it will be welcomed by the audiences everywhere!”
