EXCLUSIVE: The much-anticipated Season 3 of Stalk is about to hit the international market.

Previous seasons have sold into over 120 countries, which is big business for a French-language drama. It has also fared well on home turf where it is carried on Slash, French pubcaster France Télévisions’ digital platform.

The series follows Lux (Théo Fernandez), a gifted student at an engineering school. Having been humiliated at a college party, proceeds to use his tech skills to hack into the accounts of his peers and get revenge.

Season 3 picks up three years on from the previous series. Lux has been living on a remote farm, cut off from the world, but is forced to use hacking skills once more, this time to break into an artificial intelligence start-up called Reize. The authorities are onto him, however, and raid the farm, and wrongly arrest Charlie (Aloïse Sauvage), the girl he loves. Amid the deepfakes, lies, and betrayals, he must sort the truth from the lies as he attempts to exonerate her.

France Televisions Distribution is across sales on the Stalk, which is produced by French indie label Silex Films. FTD is launching Season 3 at Unifrance’s Rendez-Vous market, which is staged in Le Havre, Northern France, and kicks off next week. It is a major market for French distributors such as FTD, and attracts a decent number of buyers, who largely head to Le Havre from elsewhere in Europe.

Stalk was created by Simon Bouisson, Jean-Charles Paugam and Victor Rodenbach. Previous buyers of the cyber bullying and stalking drama include HBO for Latin America, RAI in Italy, and Channel 4 in the UK.
