This four-bedroom, three-bathroom house, which also has an attached one-bedroom, one-bathroom casita, is in Catalina Vista, a five-minute drive from the University of Arizona. A small city park with a playground and picnic tables is a block away, and the Banner-University Medical Center Tucson is within walking distance. Driving to downtown Tucson takes around 15 minutes, and Saguaro National Park, home to some of the country’s largest cactuses, is 30 minutes away.
Size: 3,738 square feet
Price per square foot: $321
Indoors: The house is set back from the street, behind a recently landscaped front yard. A covered entryway offers access to the casita and the main home’s living room, where the wooden ceiling beams are painted white. A wood-burning fireplace has a floor-to-ceiling stone surround, and sliding-glass doors face the patio.
Through the living room is the kitchen, updated in the home’s recent remodel. The countertops are quartz and two islands offer seating for eight. The appliances include a white enamel range and beneath an atomic-style light fixture is a dining area in front of street-facing windows. A wallpapered laundry room off the kitchen has a side-by-side washer and dryer, and there’s an office off the dining area.
The primary suite is at the end of a short hall off the living room. The bedroom has polished concrete floors and a set of sliding glass doors that open to a small patio, as well as two walk-in closets. The en suite bathroom has a floating wood vanity with two sinks and a walk-in shower.
Another full bathroom is off the same hall, as is a bedroom big enough for a double bed and a desk. Two more bedrooms, off the living room, fit queen-size beds. These bedrooms share a full bathroom with blue-tile walls.
The casita, off the main entryway, has its own kitchenette, plus a separate bedroom and full bathroom.
Outdoor space: A red brick patio behind the house has space for a dining table and a grill. A small yard beyond the patio is private thanks to a tall wood fence.

A public elementary school and a playground are a few blocks away. Also 10 minutes away are the campus of the University of Richmond and the Robins Nature Center at Maymont, on the edge of the James River.

Off the opposite side of the foyer is a formal dining room, with a paper light fixture hanging from an original ceiling medallion. A butler’s pantry links the dining room to the kitchen, which was updated by the current sellers. The countertops are leathered granite and the appliances are stainless steel. A powder room and a laundry room are behind the kitchen.
From the foyer, a staircase rises to the second floor and four of the five bedrooms. The primary bedroom, off the landing, has hardwood floors and a farmhouse-style sliding door that opens to an updated en suite bathroom, with a walk-in shower that has green tiles.
The three other bedrooms along the hall are all bright and have white walls. One is used as a nursery, and another is set up as a dressing room. A full bathroom off the hall has a combined tub and shower atop penny tile floors.
