Rapper Lil Nas X took to social media on Tuesday to break his silence following his release from jail stemming from his bizarre walk in Studio City where he was wearing his underwear and cowboy boots.
At one point, video footage showed him completely naked.
“Your girl is going to be okay, ya’ll,” he told his followers in a video post to his Instagram Stories. “Okay? She’s going to be alright. She’s going to be alright.”
At the time of the incident, the Los Angeles Police Department said they transported the artist to a nearby hospital for a possible overdose and then placed him under arrest for battery on a police officer.
On Monday, the “Old Town Road” singer pleaded not guilty to felony charges from the Aug. 21 incident. The Grammy winner is accused of assaulting police officers as they attempted to take him into custody. He was charged with three counts of battery and one count of resisting.
“S–t. That was f–king terrifying,” he chuckled, attempting to lighten the mood. “That was terrifying! That was a terrifying last four days, but your girl is going to be alright.”
He was released after his court appearance on $75,000 bond and was ordered to attend four Narcotics Anonymous meetings a week. His attorney maintains he was not using illegal drugs.
If convicted of all charges, the artist, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, could face up to five years in prison.
