Over the last week, the trade rumors surrounding Adam Thielen have been very loud for the Minnesota Vikings. While the team has been searching for help at the wide receiver position, a chance to reunite with a longtime fan favorite would be a perfect way to do it.
Unfortunately, the recent reports about the Vikings’ pursuit of Thielen have not been great.
At this point, it seems very unlikely that Minnesota will be able to work out a trade with the Carolina Panthers for Thielen. Assuming that ends up being the case, the Vikings would likely still pursue adding another wide receiver.
With that in mind, another potential option has been brought up and suggested for Minnesota.

Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report has named the Vikings as a potential trade suitor for Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers. He recently requested a trade from the Raiders, although the team has not shown a high interest in granting that request.
In his suggested trade, Gagnon would have Minnesota trading a 2026 fourth-round pick for Meyers. That would be a no-brainer deal for the Vikings.
Meyers is coming off of a good season in 2024 with Las Vegas. He caught 87 passes for 1,027 yards and four touchdowns in 15 games. Back in 2023, he played in 16 games and caught 71 passes for 807 yards and eight touchdowns.
Adding that kind of a weapon for first-year starting quarterback J.J. McCarthy in addition to Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and Jalen Nailor would be a big boost. Meyers would help make the Minnesota offense one of the most high-powered and dangerous in the NFL.
It will be interesting to see what the Vikings do at wide receiver. They clearly want to make a move. Should their Thielen pursuit fall through, Meyers would be well worth aggressively pursuing.

One thing to note about Meyers is that he’s heading into the final year of his contract. Trading for him would not add long-term money to the sheet for Minnesota. However, the team could work out a new deal with him if it wants to keep him in town.
Expect to continue hearing rumors about the Vikings. Meyers may not end up being of interest, but he’s a name worth keeping an eye on as Minnesota looks to add to its wide receiver room.
