Summary

  • MB&F taps Yinka Ilori fot a trio of M.A.D.1S watches
  • The collection, themed “Grow Your Dreams,” is inspired by nature, growth and optimism
  • Each watch is limited to 400 pieces and features a unique colorway

MB&F returns with its annual M.A.D. Edition watch release. This time, the independent watch brand has teamed up with British–Nigerian artist Yinka Ilori for a trio of M.A.D. 1S time-tellers centering on the theme of “Grow Your Dreams.”

Building on the streamlined silhouette of the M.A.D. 1S introduced at Geneva Watch Days 2024, the collaboration infuses the timepieces with Ilori’s signature vibrancy and storytelling. Each edition, spanning Sun, Nature and Water, is limited to 400 pieces and celebrates the artist’s guiding mantra of nurturing dreams, symbolized through motifs of growth and optimism.

At the heart of each “Grow Your Dreams” timepiece beats a Swiss-made LaJoux-Perret G101 single-cylinder movement, enhanced by a slimmer, intricately milled titanium rotor engraved with a tree motif. The rotor’s anodized finish comes in three vivid hues: yellow for Sun, green for Nature and blue for Water. Meanwhile, Super-LumiNova highlights both the rotor contours and Ilori’s “Grow Your Dreams” engraving. A first for M.A.D.Editions, the bezel’s precision-machined groove is filled with HyCeram liquid ceramic, hand-polished to a rainbow sheen, and the aluminum baseplate features tactile, wave-textured stamping for a subtle 3D effect.

Completing the bold color story, each model is paired with a mismatched rubber strap stamped with leaf patterns. Head over to MB&F’s website for more details regarding the watches’ availability and prices.
