The Pittsburgh Steelers will face off against the Green Bay Packers in Week 8 of the 2025 NFL season on October 26. Of course, that means that Aaron Rodgers will be taking on his former team for the first time since being traded to the New York Jets.
Rodgers, who will always be remembered for his days with the Packers, will have a chance to win and go down as a player who defeated every single team in the NFL.
When Week 8 arrives, all eyes will be on Rodgers facing off against Jordan Love. However, the future Hall of Fame quarterback spoke out honestly about his thoughts on the matchup.
In an exclusive interview with Bill Huber of Green Bay Packers on SI, Rodgers shared his thoughts on playing his former team.

“It is just another game,” Rodgers said. “Obviously, there’s energy around it kind of outside of yourself but it doesn’t make or break your career. It’ll be fun to beat them, for sure, because I would’ve beaten every team, and because you’re trying to win all your games. Either way, it’ll be good to see so many people.”
He continued on, revealing the people that he’s most excited to see when he plays Green Bay.
“Some of the people I’m most excited to see, honestly, are the guys who were with me all 18 years – mostly training room guys, equipment staff guys. It’ll be fun to see some of those guys. That’ll be exciting.”
Heading into the 2025 season, Rodgers has openly shared that he believes it will be his last in the NFL. Should that be the case, he will go down as one of the best to ever throw the football. He’s hoping to end his career on top.

Joining the Steelers will give him a chance to make a run at the Super Bowl. Pittsburgh went out and aggressively added win-now talent this offseason.
Outside of signing Rodgers in free agency, the Steelers also made a couple of big trades. They added star wide receiver DK Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks and also pulled off a blockbuster trade with the Miami Dolphins for both Jalen Ramsey and Jonnu Smith.
All of that being said, fans will be watching Rodgers a little more closely this season. If it is indeed his final season, the matchup against the Packers will be his one and only chance to knock off his old team and the only time that viewers get to see him go head-to-head with his Green Bay replacement.
