Summary

  • The MING 57.04 Iris watch debuts the brand’s fifth-generation design language
  • It is a 40mm stainless steel destro monopusher chronograph with an iridescent, color-shifting dial
  • Available now, the watch is limited to 100 examples

In celebration of its eighth anniversary, independent watchmaker MING debuts a landmark new model: the 57.04 Iris. This timepiece ushers in the brand’s fifth-generation design language while marking its first-ever “destro” (left-hand) chronograph. Housed in a 40 mm stainless-steel case, the Iris balances strong visual presence with everyday wearability.

Beneath a domed sapphire crystal, a deeply dished brass dial shimmers with an iridescent “Iris” coating that shifts between turquoise, purple and various shades of blue as light strikes its surface. The case alternates polished and satin-brushed facets around the bezel and caseband, while laser-cut indices filled with MING’s Polar White lume appear to float just below the sapphire crystal. Its stepped lugs, each composed of nine precisely finished components, further reinforce the collection’s sculptural Art Deco aesthetic. With 100 meters of water resistance, the Iris is equally ready for desk duty or daily adventure.

At its heart beats a bespoke Sellita Cal. SW562.M1 monopusher chronograph, reconfigured for destro operation to accommodate a large, tactile crown and pusher. A 30-minute counter at 6 o’clock employs sandwich-style construction to showcase Super-LumiNova, while a 4N-coated three-quarter plate provides a striking anthracite contrast.

Limited to 100 pieces and priced at 6,250 CHF (approx $7,768 USD), the 57.04 Iris is available via MING’s website and its authorized partners.
