He’s not getting Gaines with that lift.
Outspoken swimmer Riley Gaines is the latest to mock mayoral hopeful Zohran Mamdani for his “Mamscrawny” gym fail — sharing a video of her benching way more than him while weighing just 130 pounds.
The influencer shared a video of her own lift as Mamdani faced ongoing humiliation for needing help to lift a meager 135 pounds at a Brooklyn event on Saturday.
In comparison, the female swimmer said her lift was “165lb relatively easy reps on a bench when I weighed 130lbs.”
“Take note, Zohran Mamdani,” Gaines wrote of her lifting more than her bodyweight in her 2022 video.
The swimmer also shared a link to the Democratic Socialist’s doomed efforts to bench 135 pounds at the annual Men’s Day open streets event.
“I’m not saying we should judge politicians for how much they can bench but I’m absolutely judging a politician for how much he can bench,” she wrote on X.
Gaines wasn’t the only one mocking Mamdani for his show of weakness, with rival Mayor Eric Adams showing off how he was able to bust out multiple reps at the same event with the same spotter not needing to do the lifting.
“64 vs 33. A lifetime of hard work vs. a silver spoon. The results speak for themselves,” Adams wrote on X — adding cuttingly: “The weight of the job is too heavy for “Mamscrawny.” The only thing he can lift is your taxes.”
Another rival in the mayoral race, former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, joined in, saying of Mamdani: “This guy can’t bench his own body weight, let alone carry the weight of leading the most important city in the world.”
Gaines became an outspoken commentator after first bashing transgender swimmer Lia Thomas, whom she faced in collegiate swimming races as Thomas went on to become the first openly trans woman champion in the NCAA women’s division.
