Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Shilo Sanders might have sealed his fate in the final preseason game. During an incident on the field with a Buffalo Bills player, Sanders threw what appeared to be a punch.

This led to Sanders being ejected from the game, which is tough considering he is chasing a roster spot on a stacked Buccaneers defense.

Sanders gets tangled up with Bills tight end Zach Davidson. As Davidson backs up the young safety, he then throws a punch, which leads to a penalty and an ejection.

In Sanders’ defense, it appeared that Davidson started roughing before a punch was even thrown. That does not excuse throwing a punch, but both players should have received a penalty.

Either way, being ejected in a final preseason game is certainly not going to help Sanders make the 53-man roster.

Multiple fans have already commented on the situation, with many questioning whether or not the young Sanders even threw a punch.

One fan wrote, “Are you watching the same play that i just did? He clearly threw a closed fist… its a good call IMHO.”

Another questioned, “So players shouldn’t get ejected for throwing one or more punches?”

Another wrote, “Dawg he threw a punch.”

Another asked, “He threw a punch??”

Sanders joined the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent, and he has been angling to make the 53-man roster. Through three preseason games, he has secured three total tackles.

In terms of the depth chart, Sanders is fourth among the free safeties. Going undrafted makes it that much harder to make final rosters, and getting ejected might not help his case.

Now, Sanders has to spend the rest of the final preseason game watching from the locker room. It’s a sad situation for a young player to be ejected in a preseason game.
