As the Cleveland Browns are taking an unconventional approach this season keeping their four quarterbacks on their 53-man roster headed into the season. Berry isn’t worried as he hinted in July that this could be a possibility going into the season.

“Honestly, it’s not much of a decision for us. All four guys have done what we’ve asked. We have a room that we like all the guys in there. We don’t really see that as a problem. We more see it as an opportunity,” Berry said.

Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel, and Shedeur Sanders each bring different sets of skills and experience, giving the Browns flexibility and options when it comes to depth at the quarterback position.

There are very few teams in the NFL who would carry multiple young quarterbacks. Berry emphasized that the team might entertain trade offers if the right opportunity arises, but for now, the focus is on developing this talent group together and see what happens.

This strategy allows Cleveland to evaluate their talent up close throughout the season while giving the quarterbacks reps and for them to compete as this could pay dividends going forward in their development. It’s a calculated risk, but one that could turn the Browns’ quarterback room into one of the league’s deepest and most versatile amongst the NFL.

Berry’s stance sends a clear message to fans of the team as they see this situation as potential, not a problem, in keeping four quarterbacks they are betting that at least one will hit gold and with this mix of experience and youth will give them an edge when games matter most.

As this gives the coaching staff a few different options when they are making plays with guys with a bunch of different capabilities.
