Cincinnati Bengals Linked to Potential WR Trade

The Cincinnati Bengals boast one of the best receiving duos in the NFL in the form of Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, so they aren’t exactly hurting for talent in that department. As a matter of fact, one can argue that they have a surplus at the position.

That’s why Bengals insider Kelsey Conway wonders if Cincinnati could potentially trade one of its wide outs to supply the wants of a receiver-needy team before the season begins.

I’ll be very curious to see if the Bengals make a move. History says they won’t be inclined at ogive up one their guys (mostly talking WRs not named 1 & 5) but they need help on defense in a few areas https://t.co/JekWuocDEk

The question is, who would the Bengals actually move? Conway implies that Cincinnati’s main receivers aren’t being moved. That doesn’t just include Chase and Higgins. Those two are obvious. But guys like Andre Iosivas and Jermaine Burton probably also won’t be dealt.

Perhaps the Bengals could ship out someone like Isaiah Williams or Kendric Pryor, both of whom are entering their second NFL seasons? Or maybe even Charlie Jones could be had for the right price?

Cincinnati should probably be more focused on getting an extension done with defensive end Trey Hendrickson rather than worrying about trading a wide receiver, but if the Bengals can somehow bag a Day 3 draft pick for a player who probably won’t even see much field time in 2025, they might as well.

Zac Taylor’s club was disappointing last season, going 9-8 and missing the playoffs for the second straight year. However, Cincy is loaded with talent and could very well make a return to the postseason in 2025.

Of course, much of that will depend on how these next couple of weeks proceed and whether or not the Bengals are able to find common ground with Hendrickson, who has been holding in at training camp in search of a new contract.

But in the meantime, it also wouldn’t hurt Cincinnati to take advantage of another ballclub in need of a pass-catcher. The Bengals have plenty of them.
