Santos Laguna sits eighth on the Liga MX table with six points in five matches, leaving the club in position to qualify for the Liguilla playoffs, the equivalent of the play-in tournament for the Liga MX playoffs. The club has two wins and three losses on the season and an even-zero goal differential. Most recently, Santos Laguna fell 3-2 to Cruz Azul, despite goals scored by Bruno Barticciotto in the 32nd minute and Cristian Dajome in the 47th minute.
The bad news for Santos Laguna is that, on top of the defeat, Ramiro Sordo got a red card in the 40th minute, meaning he will be suspended for today’s game against FC Juarez.
FC Juarez, meanwhile, sits 14th on the table with just five points in five matches. The club has scored four goals this season and conceded six, resulting in a minus-two goal differential. Because the season is young, though, Juarez is just one point out of a play-in tournament position. Juarez is coming off a win, having most recently defeated Chivas de Guadalajara 2-1, with goals scored by Oscar Estupiñan and Jairo Torres.
