HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Heading into the upcoming weekend, we will begin to see a shift in the weather pattern. This shift in the weather pattern will support increased rain chances along with cooler temperatures.
There will be an increased chance for widely scattered showers and storms on Saturday as an area of low pressure tracks along the Gulf Coast. The counter-clockwise rotation around the low will allow tropical moisture to stream into the region. By Sunday, a cold front will track through the area.
Storms that develop this weekend will be capable of producing heavy rain, frequent lightning, and strong winds over 40 mph. If you have any outdoor plans this weekend, make sure to stay weather-aware of changing conditions.
Fall-Like Temperatures Next Week:
Following the passage of the cold front on Sunday, the area will experience a shift in temperatures.
Above the surface, an upper-level trough will dig into the jet stream, allowing for cooler air to shift south. This will lead to a nice sneak peek at Fall.
High temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday will only reach the upper 70s to low 80s. Though temperatures will be nearly ten degrees cooler than normal. While it will be cool, the highs aren’t expected to reach records.
If you are looking forward to cool mornings, you’ll love the temperatures waking up on Wednesday and Thursday. Lows in Huntsville are forecast to fall into the upper 50s.
