The Minnesota Vikings have confirmed interest in a reunion with Minnesota native Adam Thielen, whose wife has fueled trade rumors surrounding his former team and the Carolina Panthers.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Vikings have “inquired” about trading for Thielen, a move that would bring the Detroit Lakes, Minn., native back to his team of 10 seasons before spending the past two seasons with the Panthers.

His wife, Caitlin, followed up Schefter’s report with a message on her Instagram story that has left fans certain a move is coming.
On Friday, Aug. 22, Caitlin posted “BIG NEWS” on her Instagram story just hours after Schefter’s report.

However, she showed to be teasing in the following story post, sharing a photo of their dog and children in a swimming pool.
“Nana can swim!!! Isn’t that all what you thought it’d be,” she wrote with a laughing emoji.

This isn’t the first instance of Caitlin’s social media behavior fueling trade speculation. A Vikings news account on X (formerly Twitter) also claims she liked a post of Kay Adams teasing the trade idea to Kevin O’Connell.
“Adam Thielen’s wife on Instagram… yeah he’s getting traded,” one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
“I keep refreshing my feed waiting for the Adam Thielen has been traded to the Vikings tweet,” another fan wrote.

“Adam Thielen…Thank you for your services. You will forever be a Panthers Legend in my books,” a Panthers podcast account posted preemptively.
As of Friday afternoon, the Vikings and Panthers are “discussing a trade” that would bring Thielen back to Minnesota, the Minnesota Star Tribune’s Ben Goessling reported.
The Athletic’s Diana Russini reported that “financial hurdles” remain in early trade talks that she was told are “nothing serious” as of Friday afternoon.
