HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — A woman accused of shooting her husband in 2021 has taken a plea deal for a lesser charge, according to court documents.
On August 15, Inez Renae Fuqua took a plea deal for the lesser charge of manslaughter and was sentenced to 10 years in prison, split for time already served and two years of probation for the death of her husband in 2021.

According to court documents, Fuqua shot and killed Christopher Fuqua, her husband, with a semi-automatic pistol. Inez Fuqua wasn’t indicted for her husband’s murder until September 2022.
Just five months before the deadly shooting, the Huntsville Police Department investigated a separate, similar domestic violence incident between the pair
At that time, police said Inez Fuqua ambushed her husband at the Hyatt Place Huntsville hotel. As he pulled up, HPD said she jumped out and fired 14 shots at the car, but missed her husband. He had a gun of his own and fired two shots back, hitting Christopher Fuqua once.
Inez Fuqua was charged with assault, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and receiving stolen property for the incident. She bonded out of jail that same day.
