Kamala Harris announces international book tour for ‘107 Days’

Former Vice President Kamala Harris on Thursday announced a 15-city book tour that will take her from New York and San Francisco to Toronto and London.

The tour will kick off September 24, one day after the release of her memoir “107 Days,” and will end at Miami’s Ziff Opera House in late November.

Harris announced the tour in a short social media video that listed the stops over clips from her unsuccessful 2024 presidential campaign. Harris last month described the book as “a journal” that will recount that abbreviated run that was launched after then-President Joe Biden abruptly dropped out of the race.

“During these special events, Harris will share what she saw, what she learned, and what it will take to move forward,” book publisher Simon & Schuster wrote in a press release. Most of the conversations are slated to take place in theaters and music halls. Organizers have not announced moderators for the events.

Several small and independently owned bookstores will be partnering with Harris in cities along the tour, which was an intentional move by the vice president, according to a source familiar with her plans.

That source told NBC News that Harris expanded the tour to include more “untraditional” markets like Portland, Oregon, and Durham, North Carolina, and that it’s possible she makes additional surprise visits around formal book events.

While some events are scheduled in reliably conservative states, including Texas, Tennessee and Alabama, the tour will likely fuel even more speculation around Harris’ political future.

In July, the former vice president announced she would not enter the 2026 race for California governor. “I don’t want to go back in the system,” she explained in an interview on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”

“I want to travel the country,” Harris told the late-night host, adding “I want to listen to people, I want to talk with people, and I don’t want it to be transactional, where I’m asking for their vote.”

Two sources close to Harris told NBC News last month that she was looking to keep an option open to run for president again in 2028.

The book publisher says tickets are scheduled to go on sale Friday, with “VIP Meet & Greet” tickets available that include a photo with Harris and a signed copy of the book.
