With the regular season just a few weeks away, the Dallas Cowboys still find themselves up to their necks in off-field drama. As the Micah Parsons saga rages on, one analyst suggested they start acting like one of their biggest rivals.
The Cowboys have let this ordeal with Parsons drag on, and now it’s become a worst-case scenario. Both sides are so disgruntled with one another that it looks like things will never be rectified.
Amid numerous public jabs, Parsons and the Cowboys have yet to come back to the table regarding a contract extension. Seeing how things have unfolded in recent weeks, many have come to the conclusion that this ordeal will only come to an end when Dallas decides to part ways with the All-Pro linebacker.
Parsons remains adamant about the trade request he put in earlier this month, but the Cowboys don’t seem ready to entertain such a move.

Colin Cowherd thinks the Cowboys should follow a similar blueprint as the Eagles
In recent years, the Cowboys have had dragged-out affairs with multiple players before giving them an extension. It may have worked in the past, but it’s completely destroyed their relationship with Parsons.
During Wednesday’s episode of The Herd, Colin Cowherd gave his thoughts on the messy standoff between Parsons and the Cowboys. He feels the iconic franchise should follow the example the Philadelphia Eagles set when it comes to homegrown talent.
“You know what, you know who the Dallas Cowboys of that era are. They’re the Philadelphia Eagles now,” Cowherd said. “The Micah Parsons contract saga appears it’s not going to end well. You knew he was an All-Pro as a rookie, do what the Eagles do. Sign him early, or trade him and get a fortune.”

This ordeal hung a dark cloud over training camp, and now could do the same for the regular season. With the Cowboys’ Week 1 matchup against the Eagles just a few weeks away, it remains unknown if Parsons will join his teammates on the field. He’s yet to practice in camp, as he’s been limited due to a back injury.
