Wynonna Judd’s daughter, Grace Kelley, claimed she was sexually abused by her former stepfather — and that the country singer willingly covered it up.
Kelley, 29, said she was 10 years at the time of the alleged abuse in an interview with the Daily Progress. Kelley claimed she was molested by D. R. Roach, whom Judd was married to from 2003 to 2007.
Judd divorced Roach, her former bodyguard, after he was arrested in March 2007 in Texas and charged with three counts of aggravated sexual battery on a child under the age of 13. He was eventually convicted of attempted aggravated sexual battery, though the victim was never identified.
Kelley told the outlet that Roach’s alleged abuse came to light when the family went to counseling and it was reported to law enforcement.
“When he was arrested and it came out in the news, that’s when she divorced him,” she said of her mother.
Kelley accused Judd of covering up the abuse.
“So is my mom rich? Yeah, she’s so rich that she was able to sweep me under the rug and abuse me and then cover it all up,” she claimed. “I don’t want to talk bad about my mom, but we’ll just say she’s a good performer. She was never a mother.”
Kelley told the outlet that she is now sober after a history of drug addiction. She said she also found religion and is now living in Charlottesville, Va.
“My entire life, the reason I travel so much is I was looking for home,” she said. “But ever since I came to Charlottesville and I gave my life to God — oh, man, it’s just beautiful. I love it here.”
Reps for Judd, 61, didn’t immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.
Kelley — who’s the daughter of Judd and her first husband, Arch Kelley III — has had her fair share of legal trouble over the years related to drug addiction, starting in 2015.
She was sentenced to eight years in prison in 2018 for violating her probation. She was released in early 2019 but ended up behind bars once again in 2021 for another probation violation.
She spent the next few years in and out of prison and welcomed a daughter, Kaliyah Chanel, in 2022.
In April 2024, she was arrested for exposing herself on a busy highway in Alabama.
She was arrested again in August 2024 on three misdemeanor counts: fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, driving with a suspended/revoked license and using motorcycle equipment improperly, Page Six exclusively reported at the time.
In January, Judd revealed she was raising Kaliyah after Kelley’s legal issues.
Judd previously spoke out about Roach’s arrest back in December 2010 in an interview with Oprah Winfrey. She said she found out about his shocking arrest while at the airport and went into “mama bear mode” to protect her children — Kelley and son Elijah, 30.
“He was out of the house within the hour,” she said of her ex-husband. “I called him everything I could think of. I had a moment where I let it all fly, and then it was done.”
She said she did know Roach’s victim.
“Because of the child, I won’t speak about it. It’s their story [to tell] when they’re ready to talk,” she said.
“They’re in the [healing] process, and it’s none of my business,” she also shared. “I had to separate from it or it would have killed me. I literally had to physically, emotionally and spiritually literally place them at the feet of Jesus.”
