Sydney Sweeney didn’t allow her breakup with her then-fiancé, Johnathan Davino, to get in the way of filming her forthcoming film “The Housemaid.”
Director Paul Feig raved over the actress’ professionalism, telling the Wall Street Journal in an article published Wednesday, “She was completely present emotionally.”
He added that the “Euphoria” star was “just up for anything, and really didn’t bring any issues to set.”
“And I know she was going through some things when this was going on — I mean, now everybody knows about her engagement falling apart and breaking off and all that,” Feig, 62, continued.
He recalled occasionally checking in on Sweeney, 27, “I’d say, ‘Hey, are you OK?’ and she’d go, ‘I’m fine, I’m great!’ but not defensively.”
The filmmaker stated that the “White Lotus” alum “loves to work,” to which she also confirmed in the same interview.
Elsewhere in the interview, Sweeney declined to comment on whether she and Davino share a working relationship through their Fifty-Fifty Films production company, which they co-founded in 2020.
“I’m going to keep all of my personal stuff out of it,” she said.
In March, news broke that the “Immaculate” star and Davino, 42, had broken off their engagement in January.
In January, paps caught the now-exes, who started dating in 2018, appearing tense while leaving a hotel in New York City during Sweeney’s break from filming “The Housemaid.”
An insider told People in March that Sweeney was “where she wants to be” in her career and became “overwhelmed” by “her relationship and her wedding,” which was set to occur in May.
The outlet reported that she “didn’t feel right” about her relationship with the producer and wasn’t “ready to settle down.”
In April, Davino and the “Anyone But You” star reunited for a low-key lunch outing in Los Angeles, but the latter didn’t appear thrilled, as she hid behind a blue hoodie and sunglasses.
Sweeney has, however, been seemingly enjoying her single era with tequila-filled nights and karaoke outings with friends.
She’s also been seen getting flirty with her “Housemaid” co-star Brandon Sklenar, though an insider told Us Weekly that “they are just really good friends.”
