Late Night Slams Donald Trump Jr.’s Russian-Funded Wedding Party

Welcome to Late Night Roundup, a rundown of the previous night’s highlights that lets you sleep — and lets us get paid to watch comedy. Here are the 50 best movies on Netflix right now.

‘Here Comes the Bribe’

Late-night hosts criticized the Trump family on Wednesday over reports that Umar Kremlev, a Russian businessman with ties to the Kremlin, paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to help finance Donald Trump Jr.’s wedding after-party in May.

“A Russian oligarch with ties to Putin paid for the president’s son’s wedding weekend, and this is a presidential family of billionaires, which means you just did corruption for the love of the game,” Josh Johnson said on Wednesday’s “Daily Show.”

“[Singing] Here comes the bribe, from a Russian guy.” — JOSH JOHNSON

“This whole family’s been making billions off Trump’s presidency, and they still can’t resist a freebie, whether it’s a Qatari jet, or a post-wedding chocolate fountain.” — JOSH JOHNSON

“Also, the guy who gave them 700K is named Umar Kremlev? I don’t want to be culturally insensitive, but that name sounds like a knockoff James Bond villain: ‘He’s a spy from the Kremlin, let’s call him “Kremlev.”’” — JOSH JOHNSON

“Of course, there’s nothing fishy about one of Putin’s billionaire buddies paying the bill for Donald Trump Jr.’s wedding party. But today, house Democrats announced that they are going to investigate. Congratulations, Bettina, your first congressional subpoena. Welcome to the Trump family.” — JIMMY KIMMEL, referring to Donald Trump Jr.’s new wife, Bettina Trump

The Punchiest Punchlines (Kennedy Center Edition)

“And then we have the president’s war — not the one on Iran, the one against the Kennedy Center.” — JIMMY KIMMEL

“After a judge ruled that President Trump can’t add his name to the Kennedy Center, Trump announced that he’s shutting it down and canceling the planned renovations. Yeah, Trump canceled the renovations. The Reflecting Pool looked at the Kennedy Center and said, ‘Consider yourself lucky, kid. You have no idea.’” — JIMMY FALLON

“He’s holding the building hostage. They really should call it the Melania Trump Kennedy Center.” — JIMMY KIMMEL

“Yep, Trump is shutting it down because it doesn’t have his name on it, as opposed to his casinos, which shut down because they did have his name on it.” — JIMMY FALLON

“This is a big deal: Either Trump doesn’t put his name on it and we all keep calling it the Kennedy Center, or Trump does put his name on it and we all keep calling it the Kennedy Center.” — JIMMY FALLON

“At this point, the only thing he doesn’t want his name on is Don Jr.” — JIMMY KIMMEL
