These two teams are making their second straight appearances in the Little League World Series on Wednesday night at Volunteer Stadium in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The Joto Little League of Tokyo lost in the International semifinal in 2024, while the Aruba Central Little League of Santa Cruz, Aruba, won two games before a third-round exit last year.
Yushi Yamamoto was the MVP of Japan’s game on Tuesday afternoon. He homered while also working 5.1 shutout innings with eight strikeouts, as Japan eliminated Mexico with a 6-0 win. Yamamoto drove in the game’s first run with a first-inning single and then connected on a two-run home run in the fifth.
Aruba had no issues beating Canada in its last game. Aruba took an early 2-1 lead and never looked back, eliminating Canada 6-1 on Tuesday night. Anthony Santos allowed one run over three innings, and three relievers combined for three no-hit innings.
The winner advances to Thursday’s lower bracket International semifinal against the loser of Wednesday afternoon’s game between Venezuela and Chinese Taipei.
