Trouble Brewing With Yankees? Aaron Judge Responds To Aaron Boone

New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge recently suffered a flexor strain in his throwing arm that saw him placed on the injured list. The good news is that this injury only impacts his throwing, so he’s been able to return as the everyday designated hitter.

But the bad news is this has handicapped the Yankees’ DH slot and put them in a tough position with veteran Giancarlo Stanton, whose body is seemingly too roughed up to play the field every day.

To make matters worse, manager Aaron Boone recently said that Judge’s arm might not get back to 100 percent at all this season.

“I don’t think we’re going to see him back to throwing like he normally does at any point this year,” Boone said, via MLB’s Bryan Hoch. “We’re trying to get through where he can let it go with ease and be able to protect himself.”

Obviously, with a statement like that about the game’s best hitter, it went viral. When word got around to Judge, the Yankees’ superstar fired a message right back at Boone, indicating a lot of disconnect between the Captain and his manager.

“I don’t know why he said that. He hasn’t seen me throw for the past two weeks, so I’m pretty confident I’ll get back to [100 percent],” Judge said, via Hoch.

I’m not sure what’s worse: the fact that Boone hasn’t seen his injured superstar throw in two weeks or the fact that he publicly spoke out about something contradictory about Judge.

There’s a chance that Boone’s comments were based on the training staff and their evaluation of Judge, while Judge is operating on how he feels over anything else.

Either way, it’s a bad look, and it seems to show quite a disconnect in the clubhouse between the team’s manager and their Captain.

Boone later said that he might have overstated his initial comments.
