‘Rivals’ Pair Hosting ITV Guessing Game Format ‘Nobody’s Fool’

Rivals pair Danny Dyer and Emily Atack are fronting an ITV gameshow in which contestants fool each other over how well they are performing.

Launching next year, Nobody’s Fool is the first ITV commission for U.S. indie Nobody’s Hero, which is making the reality series with Love Island producer Lifted Entertainment.

Nobody’s Fool will see 10 contestants from across the UK selected to stay in a ‘Smart House’. They will take part in daily individual quizzes that will test different areas of intelligence in order to build a group prize pot. But the twist is that only the contestants themselves will know how well they have done, and what information they choose to share with their competitors is down to them.

The show represents ITV’s dive into the guessing game format genre made famous by the BBC and NBC’s The Traitors, while Channel 4’s effort, The Inheritance, will launch soon.

Dyer and Atack are well known on UK screens for playing Freddie Jones and Sarah Stratton in Disney+’s BAFTA-winning Rivals, and Nobody’s Fool definitely has a shade or two of the Jilly Cooper adaptation. The pair are currently in production on Rivals Season 2.

Dyer has hosted numerous gameshows including the BBC’s The Wall, Netflix’s Cheat and Channel 4’s Scared of the Dark. “This is a blinder of a game show and unlike anything I’ve seen before. Emily and I had a brilliant time making it and much like the audience at home will be, we were kept guessing right until the very end,” he added.

Nobody’s Fool was commissioned by Sue Murphy and Kate Teckman. It is a co-production between Lifted Entertainment and Nobody’s Hero, which has an overall deal with ITV America. Executive producer is Mark Saben and series editor is Benjamin Cook. The show will be sold by ITV Studios.
