The skies over Caves Valley Golf Club weren’t kind to the start of the BMW Championship. Thunderstorms delayed Thursday’s opening round, softening the greens and testing the pros. But by Sunday, the clouds had cleared, and so had Scottie Scheffler’s path to victory.

In a dramatic final round, Scheffler swung a four-shot deficit to overtake Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre, who had led the field for three straight days. MacIntyre’s opening round of 62 had set the tone of the $20M event. But Sunday belonged to Scheffler.

The world No. 1 carded a 3-under 67, highlighted by a chip-in birdie on the par-3 17th that stunned the gallery and sealed his fifth win of the season. MacIntyre, who started the day at 16-under, stumbled early with three bogeys in his first five holes and sadly never fully recovered. He finished solo second at 13-under.

Rory McIlroy, returning from a three-week break, finished T12 at 277 strokes. Still, he remains No. 2 in the FedExCup standings heading into East Lake.

Xander Schauffele, meanwhile, saw his eight-year streak of Tour Championship appearances get snapped. He finished T28 at 3 over par, missing the top-30 cutoff and ending a season that included just two top-10s and no wins.

2025 BMW Championship – Full Payout Table

With a $20 million purse on the line, Scheffler takes home $3.6 million. MacIntyre earns $2.16 million for his runner-up finish, while McNealy pockets $1.36 million. Fleetwood and Burns each collect $910,000.

Beyond the cash, Scheffler also secures a $5 million FedExCup bonus and enters the Tour Championship as the top seed, though this year’s format resets all players to even par.
