PHOENIX — A church near South Mountain in Phoenix recently sold for nearly $3 million.
The Riverside Baptist Church, located in South Mountain Village at 1050 E. Baseline Rd, was bought by Arizona Church of God for $2.95 million.
Arizona Church of God purchased the property for Life Church at South Mountain, which is led by Pastor Dalton May.
The sale was facilitated by NAI Horizon’s Church Realty Solutions team.
“One great aspect of the sale, besides setting a record per-square-foot price for this submarket, is that the buyer is another nearby church that is rapidly growing and anticipates even greater growth and success on their new campus,” Thomas Smith, senior vice president of NAI’s Church Realty Solutions team, said in a press release. “This is just one example of renewed faith expanding throughout the Valley.”
Details on the church and sale
The church was built in 1999, sits on 3.5 acres and is 9,680 square feet.
It has large dining facilities, pastoral offices, large classrooms as well as indoor and outdoor fellowship areas.
Pastor Bob Pogue led the Riverside congregation in the purchase of the site and construction of the church 26 years ago.
Pogue is relocating his ministry to the East Valley.
