The Michigan Wolverines have been involved in a lot of off-the-field drama over the last year. Now, the situation involving Connor Stalions has been finalized.
After about two years of investigation into the sign stealing and in-person scouting allegations, the NCAA finally handed down its punishment for Michigan.
What was the punishment for the crime? The NCAA gave the Wolverines a hefty fine, they gave head coach Sherrone Moore a two-year show cause order and suspended him an extra game this year, and also placed the school on four years of probation.
One of the big questions about the situation was about the possible involvement of former Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh.

Following the 2023 that saw Harbaugh lead the Wolverines to a national championship, he quickly left town and took his coaching talents to the NFL. He’s now currently the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers.
Now, a new update has shared the level of involvement that Harbaugh had in the Stalions scandal.
As shared by Clayton Safie of TheWolverine.com, the NCAA found no evidence to suggest that Harbaugh had any knowledge of what was happening.
“The NCAA found no evidence that Jim Harbaugh or Michigan coaches directed or had knowledge of low-level staffer’s Connor Stalions’ alleged off-campus scouting operation,” Safie wrote on X. “Jim Harbaugh made a statement in October 2023 that he had no knowledge, and that’s supported.”
Harbaugh was the head coach of Michigan from the 2015 season through the 2023 campaign. He compiled an 86-25 record with the Wolverines and won the national championship in his final year with the program.

Since leaving Michigan, Harbaugh has been working to turn the Chargers into a winning NFL franchise. In his first year as their head coach, Los Angeles went 11-6 and made a run to the playoffs.
Over the years, Harbaugh has earned a lot of respect as a head coach. This news further cements his legacy as an elite head coach in both the NFL and at the college level.
Stalions may have set the Wolverines back with his actions, but Harbaugh cannot be held accountable for anything that happened during the situation.
