A shooting in an East Los Angeles back alley killed one person and possibly injured two others early Saturday morning, authorities say.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said it was notified of a fatal shooting at 2:24 a.m. on Saturday in the 5000 block of Whittier Boulevard in an unincorporated area of L.A.
Deputies arrived to find an adult male victim had been shot to death in a back alleyway. Footage obtained by KTLA shows at least one other man suffering from injuries in the back of an ambulance, and the deceased victim’s body lying on the ground.
Unconfirmed reports from news stringer service OnScene.TV say three people were shot in total, but LASD did not comment on any other injuries as of 9 a.m. Saturday.
Additionally, authorities did not immediately provide a suspect description, say whether anyone is in custody or identify any of the victims. One person was seen being questioned at the scene, but he did not appear to be formally arrested.
LASD homicide detectives responded to assist the East L.A. Sheriff’s Station with the shooting death investigation.
