Blistering new theory emerges on why Trump thinks his namesake son is an ‘idiot’

One D.C. insider has a scathing theory as to why President Donald Trump thinks his eldest son and namesake is “an idiot,” it was revealed Wednesday.

Jacob Weisberg floated his thesis on “Money Power Politics” amid a discussion about the new ProPublica report that a Russian oligarch “footed the bill for hundreds of thousands of dollars” of Donald Trump Jr.’s wedding expenses.

“What I really favor here is the family dynamic,” Weisberg said. “You know, the president didn’t go to his son’s wedding. He sort of couldn’t be bothered.”

Weisberg then delved into his theory of the Trump family dynamic that, he argued, can be divided into two kinds of con artists: the grifters and the grafters.

“The grifters pull elaborate cons; the grafters are just on the take,” Weisberg said. “Donald Trump, the president, is a grifter, and I think he doesn’t admire the grafters. His son is just a grafter — he’s kind of a dimwit.”

Weisberg argued this grifters/grafters divide was the real reason Trump skipped out on his eldest son’s wedding.

“He didn’t skip the wedding because he was worried about Russians buying the naming rights or sponsoring the drinks,” said Weisberg. “He was just like, ‘I’m not hanging out with those idiots.’”

Then Weisberg revealed why the president might think his son was lacking in intellectual heft.

“And why does he think Don Jr. is an idiot?” said Weisberg. “Because Don Jr. is an idiot.”
