The Golden State Warriors and superstar point guard Stephen Curry are hoping to make a run at another championship during the upcoming 2025-26 NBA season.

So far during the offseason, the Warriors have been very quiet. They have been unable to make any sizable additions as they navigate Jonathan Kuminga’s restricted free agency situation.

Despite not making moves yet, Golden State is rumored to have verbal agreements in place with veteran center Al Horford and wing De’Anthony Melton. If those two players do end up signing with the Warriors, the team will look to have a much better shot in the stacked Western Conference.

Curry’s presence alone will always keep Golden State on the map. He also has Jimmy Butler as his No. 2 star and Draymond Green is still in town.

After struggling through much of the 2024-25 NBA season, the Warriors finally developed a winning identity after trading for Butler. That has given Curry hope for the upcoming campaign.

With the 2025-26 season coming up quickly, Curry spoke out with a strong message about his team.

“My confidence is built on the identity we were able to create over the last third of the regular season last year,” Curry said.

Truthfully, there is good reason to be confident about Golden State if the team plays the way it did following the Butler trade. Not only did the Warriors power their way into the playoffs, they also pulled off an upset over the No. 2-seeded Houston Rockets in the first round.

In the second round, Golden State won Game 1 over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Unfortunately, Curry went down with a hamstring injury that sidelined him for the rest of the series. The Warriors were quickly eliminated in five games.

Golden State will still be depending heavily on Curry this coming season. Last year, he continued playing at an elite level. He averaged 24.5 points per game to go along with six assists, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.1 steals, while shooting 44.8 percent from the floor and 39.7 percent from three-point range in 70 games.

It will be interesting to see if the Warriors are able to get back to being a top-tier contender in the conference. Curry seems to have confident in his team’s ability to do just that.
