One person was taken into custody after a Bronx apartment building went up in flames Wednesday night — injuring two firefighters, according to authorities.

At roughly 8:16 p.m., first responders received reports of a fire on the fourth floor of 4130 Carpenter Avenue, located between East 230th Street and East 231st Street in Wakefield, FDNY officials said.

Subsequent 911 calls stated people were witnessed jumping from the burning building, but those reports were later discovered to be unfounded, officials said.

A 42-year-old man was taken into custody at the scene after firefighters successfully extinguished the blaze, according to the NYPD.

He is believed to be an emotionally disturbed person who had been evicted from the building in the past, sources told ABC7.

He has not yet been charged, according to police.

Two firefighters were taken to an area hospital with minor injuries, the FDNY said.

No civilians were injured, authorities confirmed.

Fire marshals are continuing to investigate the incident.
