NFL Fans Sound Off on Dak Prescott’s Bold Cowboys Claim

Coming off an injury-filled season, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is feeling confident. The veteran passer has a lot to prove after his team struggled mightily through the 2024 NFL season.

This year, Prescott is thinking of the NFC Championship at least. As the Cowboys’ QB1 shook hands with the owner of the Los Angeles Rams before the Cowboys-Rams preseason battle on Saturday, Prescott reportedly told Stan Kroenke that the Cowboys would meet the Rams in the conference title game.

NFL Fans React to Prescott’s Comments

via @SnipeMyles: He’s aware the NFC Championship takes place after the divisional round right?

@BraidedSochan: The rams will be playing. The cowboys will be at the meet and greet.

@RealTJS2: Is Dak getting traded?

@christpreme: Nice of him to support another team in the championship game!

@david_nolewajka: Is he buying tickets to the game?

Prescott didn’t suit up for Saturday’s preseason opener for the Cowboys. Although he’s back to being healthy again, the Cowboys will ease Prescott back into the mix.

Last season was a difficult start to a major contract extension for Prescott. After signing a four-year contract, worth $240 million, Prescott battled through an injury halfway through the year. By November, he would undergo surgery and missed the remainder of the season.

While Prescott’s absence was certainly a major blow for the Cowboys, the veteran passer was struggling through his first eight games of action prior to the setback. Prescott had a 3-5 record, completing just 64 percent of his passes for 1,978 yards, 11 touchdowns, and eight interceptions.

Prescott’s follow-up to an MVP-caliber year was certainly disappointing. Without him, the Cowboys missed the playoffs.

Heading into the 2025 NFL season, Prescott clearly feels confident as he’s feeling healthy again. Dallas helped their franchise quarterback by adding another weapon in the passing game with former Pittsburgh Steelers standout wide receiver George Pickens.

Despite Prescott getting healthy again, along with the new additions, NFL fans clearly aren’t too confident in the Cowboys heading into the 2025 NFL season.

History doesn’t bode well for Prescott’s Cowboys. They’ve had some successful regular seasons, making the playoffs seven times since 2016. However, they are just 2-5 in the postseason since the Prescott era kicked off. Their 2023 playoff run ended in one game after a 12-5 year.
