The Storm currently boasts a 16-15 record on the season, good for fourth place in the Western Conference. Seattle has been headed in the wrong direction lately, going just 3-7 in its last 10 games. Most recently, the Storm fell 90-86 to the Las Vegas Aces, despite 22 points and 12 rebounds from Dominique Malonga, as well as 12 points and nine rebounds from Nneka Ogwumike.
Before that, Seattle fell to the Minnesota Lynx 91-87 despite 23 points, six rebounds, and five assists from Ogwumike, and 11 points and seven assists from Skylar Diggins. The Storm will need to improve their defense as a team and increase production from their non-star players to get back on track as the playoffs approach.
The Sparks, meanwhile, are in the opposite situation. The team is just 14-16 this season, but has been on fire of late, boasting an 8-2 record over its last 10 games. Los Angeles is coming off a rare recent defeat, however, having most recently fallen 72-59 to the Golden State Valkyries. Star guard Kelsey Plum had a rare off-game in the defeat, going off for just four points, four rebounds, and four assists over 34 minutes of action.
