NASCAR‘s Trackhouse Racing has announced a multi-year contract extension with Shane van Gisbergen, who made his debut with the team in 2023 at the Chicago street race. Van Gisbergen secured his future in the sport by winning that race, which set the basis for a promising career with Trackhouse.

Backed by Red Bull, Trackhouse ensured van Gisbergen was given a full-time seat in 2025. In his rookie Cup Series season this year, the New Zealander has already won three races in Chicago, Mexico City, and Sonoma Raceway, which ensures his place in the playoffs.

The three-time Supercars champion began his journey with Trackhouse through Project91 in 2022, which focuses on bringing international talent to NASCAR’s Cup Series. Given the impressive performance, Trackhouse has announced it will continue racing with the 36-year-old driver for many years to come. The team’s founder and owner, Justin Marks, said in a statement:

“We are getting to watch one of the superstars of racing. What we are asking him to do carries a high degree of difficulty. He’s moved to the other side of the world, learned a new form of racing and at times dominated the competition. He’s one of the greatest.”

Van Gisbergen added:

“I feel like Trackhouse Racing is my home. Trackhouse gave me the opportunity to race at Chicago in 2023. That was just a one-race deal, and everything that has happened since then is because of the chance Justin took on me. The men and women at Trackhouse have helped me feel at home in this new challenge, and I’ve been loving every minute of it. We still have a lot of work to do, but I couldn’t be happier.”

Making another major driver announcement recently, Trackhouse confirmed it will be parting ways with Daniel Suarez after the 2025 season. Marks, who is also a friend of Suarez, confirmed that the decision to go separate ways was a mutual one. Newsweek Sports reported his comments:

“Look, Daniel’s been a huge part of this company for four and a half years now and when we sat down and mapped out our three-year and our five-year plan and the sponsorships and everything that we’re trying to accomplish over the next five years of the company, we just got to a point where we felt like that relationship had beared a lot of fruit for us, but it just was time to move on.

“So, as we grow and as the team grows, obviously, we have to identify different opportunities. Look, Daniel has been a huge part of this company and a great friend of mine. We met last night, me and him in the hotel for an hour down in the lobby and we talked about our time together, everything that we’ve accomplished together and him and I are in a really good place.

“It’s just this isn’t a sport where you do the same thing forever and as we grow, we just felt like it was time to wrap up that relationship and work to try to help him to find the next opportunity, but continue to grow as a company [is] what we’re trying to accomplish.”
