A messy two-vehicle crash left a pedestrian in critical condition and one car stuck into the side of a building in Burbank, police confirmed Friday morning.

The Burbank Police Department said the collision occurred around 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the 4200 block of Riverside Drive. Officers responded to reports of a two-car crash and arrived to find a pedestrian on the ground and the entire hood of a sedan stuck in a business building located on the corner of Riverside Drive and Rose Street.

A preliminary investigation unveiled that the pedestrian was hit by the vehicle before it careened into the side of the building. Paramedics transported the patient to a local hospital in critical but stable condition.

The patient’s identity and latest status were not known as of 9:30 a.m. Friday. No other injuries were reported as a result of the crash.

Footage from the scene showed the aftermath of the crash, which required a tow truck to yank the car out of the building it had landed in. Despite the extensive damage, police said the building was structurally sound.

KTLA later confirmed the building belonged to a business named Feybl, which uses the location as a coworking and creative wellness center. Feybl posted a message to its Instagram story around 7 a.m., telling customers about the crash and the closures it will cause. “Thankfully, no members or employees were hurt. That’s what matters most,” the statement read.

“Our library took the brunt of the damage and we will be closing that space until further notice,” the post continued in part.  “As many of you know, we built the clubhouse with our own hands and had so much support from the community as we did it. We are heartbroken, but… We’re lucky to have each other.”

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
