The Golden State Warriors have had a quiet NBA offseason thus far. While they have been connected to a lot of potential moves, they haven’t made any sizable additions to the roster just yet.
Jonathan Kuminga’s restricted free agency has been a big part of that. Until the Warriors figure out what they’re going to do with him, other moves can’t be made. Both Al Horford and De’Anthony Melton reportedly have verbal deals in place with the team.
With that being said, Golden State seems to have interest in another surprising roster move.
Bringing in another quality guard to take pressure off of Stephen Curry would be a wise decision. The Warriors may have their eyes on a high-impact player who could do just that.

According to a report from NBA insider Jake Fischer, Golden State is one of the teams who have shown interest in a potential sign-and-trade for Chicago Bulls’ restricted free agent guard Josh Giddey.
“I can report that there have been multiple teams that have reached out to Josh Giddey’s representation about having interest in [him],” Fischer said. “Golden State is one of them. Golden State would be interested, depending on how the machinations would go, in some kind of Josh Giddey-Jonathan Kuminga sign-and-trade, to my understanding.”
Giddey remains a restricted free agent. He has been unable to get the contract he has been looking for from the Bulls.
On the flip side, Chicago has been connected as a potential Kuminga suitor. A sign-and-trade swap between the two players would make a lot of sense for both teams.
During the 2024-25 NBA season with the Bulls, Giddey put together a career year. He played in 70 games and made 69 starts, averaging 14.6 points per game to go along with 8.1 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and 1.2 steals. He also shot 46.5 percent from the floor and 37.8 percent from three-point range.

At just 22 years old, Giddey could be an intriguing long-term addition for the Warriors. He could be an addition who runs the offense when Curry decides to retire.
It will be interesting to see how the situations with both Kuminga and Giddey unfold. For now, this is a potential scenario to keep a close eye on as the two players continue remaining without a deal.
