Summary

  • Nike and LEGO are releasing two new sets later this year
  • The first, the “Nike Dunk Trickshot,” a 454-piece LEGO set featuring a movable Dunk and figure for trick shot dunks
  • The “Slam Dunk” set is an 809-piece set depicting a hooper, court, scoreboard and fans in mid-dunk

More sets of the Nike and LEGO collaborative project have surfaced, building upon its successful partnership with two new, dynamic sets to fans. These creative kits go beyond simple display models, reimagining sneaker and basketball culture in brick form with a focus on interactive play.

The first set, titled the “Nike Dunk Trickshot,” is an ingenious 454-piece creation. At its heart is a red and white low-top sneaker, likely inspired by the classic “St. John’s” Dunk, which serves as a moving platform. A small LEGO figure stands atop the shoe, which is attached to a movable board. This allows builders to manipulate the shoe’s movement, guiding the figure to perform a dunk into a miniature hoop at the front of the build. It’s a playful and interactive homage to the art of the trick shot.

The second set, “Slam Dunk,” offers a more expansive and detailed scene. This 809-piece set features a hooper in mid-air, powerfully driving toward a hoop. The build includes a meticulously detailed front court, a functional scoreboard, and even miniature fans in the stands, capturing the energy and spectacle of a climactic basketball moment. This larger set allows for a more immersive storytelling experience, transforming static bricks into a scene of dynamic sports action.

These new LEGO Nike sets are a testament to the brands’ shared commitment to creative expression and cultural resonance. They appeal to a wide audience, from sneaker enthusiasts and basketball fans to LEGO collectors, offering a fun and engaging way to build, play, and display iconic sneaker and sports culture. So far, no release date has been revealed for the new LEGO sets. The duo’s first release was priced at $100 USD and it is uncertain if it the new sets will be priced similarly.
